Away3D I've tested on mobile and my experience about them:
Performance killer
  • don't use dynmaic shadows
  • don't use flint(optimze your particles system)
  • don't use too many lights
  • don't use smooth bitmap texture
  • don't use larger texture(>512x512) especially on iPad1 and HTC Desire
  • don't use skybox
